Remember when Dan was revealed as Gossip Girl and you wondered how you managed to waste seven years of your life on the story of a woman who married her internet troll?
Or when you found out Tracey in How I Met Your Mother was dead and Ted was going to rush right back to Robin (and her terrible bob).
These unjust finales could soon be no more thanks to Netflix, who are working on new technology that means viewers could choose their own endings. Just imagine a world where the door at the end of Titanic was big enough for Jack AND Rose to fit on. The opportunities are endless.
“We’re doing work on branch narratives so you are actually making choices as you watch,” a source at Netflix told The Daily Mail.
“All the content will be there, and then people will have to get through it in different ways. We’ll see how it plays out. It’s an experiment.” There will be a choose-your-own adventure show for children later this year and if it’s a success then it could be rolled out for grown ups too.

Netflix head Reed Hastings said the company is working on interactive shows. “Once you have got interactivity you can try anything,” he said.
Just imagine how much longer your Netflix binges will be if they manage to pull this off.
