The Historic Ramsey House will be hosting its 16th annual “A Focus on Fashion” show and luncheon on Tuesday, March 28, at the Cherokee Country Club on Lyons View Pike in Knoxville.
The fashion show is the Historic Ramsey House’s first fundraiser of the year and is presented by five area clothing stores. The fundraiser will begin at 10 a.m. with a boutique presented by nine clothing, skin care, handbag and home décor vendors. The boutique will be followed by the luncheon, which will begin at noon.
Entertainment during the luncheon will be provided by the Akima Club Singers, who work within the Akima Club’s outreach program. At the end of the show, a number of door prizes will be presented.
The fashion show and luncheon are open to the public, but reservations are required and must be made with the Historic Ramsey House by Wednesday, March 22. The cost of the luncheon is $50 per person and can be payed by check to be mailed to Historic Ramsey House, 2614 Thorngrove Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914.
Proceeds from the luncheon and fashion show will be used to benefit the Historic Ramsey House and its efforts to restore and preserve the home, which was built in 1797 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Charlotte Brown, chairperson for the event, explained that the fashion show is a vital part of funding preservation efforts for the Historic Ramsey House.
“It has been one of our most successful fundraisers through the years,” Brown said. “The income from it is quite important to the HRH. The local (Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities) chapter is responsible for the upkeep and the maintenance of Historic Ramsey House, so that’s where the proceeds from the luncheon and the show go.”
