Jeans are a must have fashion staple in every woman’s wardrobe. There are so many different jean trends for Spring, it can be confusing to decide which pair to wear. However, five jean styles have prevailed. Here they are…the five hottest jeans to wear for the Spring season.
Once worn only by grunge rock band front men (can you say Kurt Cobain), destroyed jeans are hot, hot, hot for Spring! Actress Kate Beckinsale was recently spotted wearing a pair of destroyed jeans. Celebrities love Siwy’s Hanna Skinny Croppen Jean, but there are destroyed denim lines that aren’t so high-end. Hollister’s Venice Boot Destroyed jean is affordable and just as trendy. Pair your destroyed denim jeans with an airy, ruffled top (another popular Spring runway trend) to give the ripped jeans a romantic feel.
If your boyfriend wears jeans close in size to yours, by all means, borrow his and save a few bucks. But if not, don’t worry, there are plenty of boyfriend-style jeans to go around for Spring. JBrand’s boyfriend jean is a popular designer denim look, but American Eagle Outfitters also offers a chic, faded wash of their Favorite Boyfriend Jean. Pair your boyfriend jeans with two fitted, layered tanks in one of Spring 2009’s huge color trend, pastel.
3) Slouchy Skinny
“Slouchy” and “skinny” don’t seem to go together, but fashionistas all over are certainly rocking the slouchy skinny look. The Spring slouchy/skinny branded denim are all fitted with emphasis on the slouch where the rise of the jean is (from the crotch to the waistband). Current/Elliott, a designer denim line also famous for their boyfriend fit jeans, has their Super Slouchy Skinny’s. These jeans were featured in ShopBop’s Spring trend forecast lookbook. Levi’s also makes several pair of slouchy skinny jeans; you can find these, like Levi’s 421 Skinny Fit, at Urban Outfitters.
Flared jeans were replaced by the uber-trendy skinny jean several season ago, but they are making a comeback! In Burberry’s Spring and Summer Ad Campaign, most of the models were modeling flared denim looks. If you don’t already have a pair of classic flared jeans in your wardrobe, try Abercrombie’s Madison Flare Jean.
Colored denim is also a look that has been around for a couple seasons, but it is still a big trend for Spring. Desert Blue designer denim comes in every color of the rainbow, and the line has been spotted on famous gams like Hilary Duff, Fergie, and Ashley Tisdale. For a cheaper, but still colorful, fix, try on a pair of Silence & Noise’s Bright Zip Twig Jean. These jeans are also available at Urban Outfitters and cost less than $50.
