With prom season fast approaching and everyone looking for ways to save money, it is important to find a dress that you like while staying within budget. I personally had my prom dress made for $80 ($40 for the material and $40 for the labor), but it may be hard to find someone willing to make a dress with such short notice for a decent price.
After researching trends for Prom I have put together a list of the five hottest prom dresses for this season. According to Sydneyscloset.com, dresses should be short or flowing and sweeping if they are long. They should have bold prints, ribbons or sequins. This prom season is all about juicy colors and bold statements while spending the least amount of money possible.
1. My Michelle® Wide Strap Shirred Prom Dress.$69.99 You will definitely make a statement in this hot pink dress. Even though it is bold and bright, it is a timeless design that will look good in pictures for years to come. The embroidered detail softens it and the wide straps and shirring help the wearer appear slimmer.
2. Blondie Nites® Asymmetrical 3-Tier Halter Dress.$99.99 According to JCPenney.com you can “dance the night away in this ultra-flirty ruffle prom dress”. It has triple-tier ruffles, allowing a shorter dress while still staying modest. The beautiful ocean blue coloring will complement almost any backdrop and will pop out in pictures.
3. Blondie Nites® Side Wrap Party Dress.$89.99This dress is a wonderful twist on the classic little black dress. It incorporates this season’s style of bold prints and short lengths. To bring more color to it, you could wear a bright ribbon across your waist with matching shoes.
4.Cascading Satin A-Line.$99.99 Available in 38 exquisite colors, this dress oozes prom. From the ball gown length to the cascading fabric down the back, this dress is sure to draw attention to whoever is wearing it. While there is a lot of fabric in the back, the skirt of this dress is not puffy or too overbearing.
5. Morgan & Co® Floral Print Rhinestone X Back Dress.$99.99 While this dress is not the typical satiny ball gown, it is a perfect example of this season’s new style. With bold prints and detailed beading, this dress really makes a statement. It stands out because of its unique design and pattern, the daring X-back is sure to stand out!
Besides these dresses, there are department stores all across the country looking to get rid of last years dresses for low prices. If you are creative, or have a friend who can help, do not be scared to buy a dress from last year. Just add ribbons, bows or sequins to follow this year’s style. Never let your budget stop you from having the night of your life.
