Finally, fashion designers the world over have re-introduced a look that almost anyone can wear, any time, any place, in any price range – AND look great and be comfortable!
Whether you want to dress up or dress down, there is a maxi to suit the occasion. From Miami to Vancouver, and every city and town in between, women of all ages and sizes have taken to the maxi and made it a bigger hit than when the style was first introduced in the 70s.
Heading to the beach? A light cotton gauze number is the perfect beach cover up. Add a cute sun hat, sun glasses, a tote, and some flats and bingo…you have an updated look and can’t-be-beat comfort and functionality. Stopping for dinner on the way home? No problem! Bring along different accessories and you’re all set.
Just doing some shopping with the girls? A matte jersey number that just brushes the ankles, matching gladiator sandals, a thin scarf around your neck, and you’re ready for an entire day of walking, talking and shopping.
Maxis offer a level of comfort we haven’t had for ..well, ever! Between mini skirts we needed to keep readjusting, and high heels that killed, and low cut tight tops that caused embarrassing mishaps (think Janet Jacket and Super Bowl!) – who could be comfortable? Couple all that with skinny jeans, pencil skirts, and low cut shorts….it’s amazing we didn’t rebel years ago!
It doesn’t matter if you take a size 0 or an XXL. There is a cut and style to not only fit well, but to make you look fabulous! There is nothing else in the fashion world that offers this level of style, comfort, range of fashion, assortment of colors, and prices to fit any budget.
One simple dress can take you from the office all through a night on the town with simple accessory changes. A simple white cotton number can take you just about anywhere from the beach to the board room to even the bridal suite! And then some!
The styles can’t be beat. Empires, low wastes, strapless, belted, spaghetti straps, bra-tops built in, bandana tops, tiered bottoms, tie dyed fabrics, and everything in between. Loose, tight, baggy, slim, adjustable, or “moo moos” – there is something for everyone.
Great deals can be found at Old Navy in the $35 range and each one looks like a million bucks! Pick up some matching flip flops, a tote, and a straw sun hat and you have a complete look for under $75.
Larger retailers like Macy’s have them in all price ranges all over the store from Juniors to Misses to Bridge Sportswear and designer labels. Take advantage of sales to get really fantastic deals: I bought a Liz Claiborne red jersey knit that was marked down from $128 for only $27!
Smaller boutique style shops such as Cache and BCBG have some real beauties for those willing to spend in the $100 plus range. Are they worth it? It’s up to you, but personally, I can’t tell the difference between these and the ones at Old Navy.
Even if you just buy one, it will be your best fashion investment for this summer season!
